Introducing The Bloody Good Collective: Movement for Menstrual Justice

This International Women’s Day, as we celebrate the theme “Accelerate Action” and embrace “Rights. Equality. Empowerment,” we are proud to introduce a transformative movement that puts the power of community, lived experience, and resilience at its heart: The Bloody Good Collective.

At Bloody Good Period, we’ve always believed that menstrual justice is about more than just access to period products. It's about breaking down the stigma, dismantling systemic barriers, and confronting the deeply entrenched inequalities that perpetuate period poverty. That’s why, this year, we’re launching The Bloody Good Collective—a bold, community-driven initiative designed to uplift and amplify the voices of those with lived experience of menstrual injustice as leaders in the fight for change.

From Experience to Action: Leading the Fight for Menstrual Justice

The Bloody Good Collective is not just a programme—it’s a movement. One that is by and for the people who know, firsthand, the challenges of menstrual injustice. Our Community Ambassadors are at the centre of this work. It’s a space where individuals with lived experience of period poverty become the architects of their own future. Through the power of training, upskilling, and ongoing collaboration, our Community Ambassadors are gaining the tools, confidence, and support to challenge period stigma, advocate for policy change, and build a society where menstruation is no longer a barrier to full participation in life.

Every conversation they initiate, every story they share, and every campaign they lead contributes to a vision where menstrual health is understood, respected, and celebrated as a human right. The Collective isn’t just about asking for change—it’s about leading it.

A Community-Driven Movement for Real Change

People often think that solving period poverty is as simple as handing out period products. However, we know that the issue runs far deeper. The root causes of menstrual injustice lie in systemic inequalities, harmful cultural stigmas, and the lack of access to menstrual health education and resources. Tackling these issues requires more than just period product distribution—it requires community-led action, where those who have lived through the struggles can guide the way forward.

The Bloody Good Collective offers the platform for these change-makers to lead with their lived experience, creating lasting impact from the grassroots level. Whether it’s raising awareness within local communities, challenging harmful policies, or inspiring national change, the power of the Collective lies in its ability to unite, empower, and mobilise. This collective action has the power to shift public perceptions, challenge outdated norms, and ensure menstrual health and rights are not just an afterthought but a priority for all.

The Collective in Action: What We Do

At the heart of the Bloody Good Collective is a commitment to building a supportive, inclusive community that fosters both education and action. Through regular gatherings, workshops, and training sessions, we provide a space where those affected by menstrual injustice can come together, share their experiences, co-create campaigns, and take part in practical workshops on menstrual health and rights.

These gatherings are more than just meetings—they are the birthplace of campaigns, the start of important conversations, and the catalyst for real, tangible action that can shift the tide toward menstrual justice.

"To come together is important as we are a team, we organise and work together to make the meetings happen. We learn about things we did not know. All of the people who have come to do education workshops have been so intelligent, but we all contribute. We learn and impart knowledge to one another. We learn from the experiences of other people in the group" - Nneka

Why Your Support Matters

To bring about lasting change, we need your help. Community-led movements are not only powerful—they are necessary. By supporting The Bloody Good Collective, you are helping us build a platform where those with lived experience can lead, take action, and make a difference.

Each gathering requires resources: hiring accessible spaces, providing travel and childcare support, offering training materials, and ensuring that everyone can participate without barriers. Your support ensures that these gatherings can happen—and that they can continue to empower those who have the power to change the world.

"Many people still do not have the education about their bodies and periods, we are working together to raise awareness to others. We want to be able to grow this work to the whole United Kingdom in the future" - Neelam
